I feel so honored to be a guest contributor for this wonderful website that Kim created for caregivers. I have a 2 ½ month old baby girl (Glen’s great granddaughter!), so it’s not always easy for me to cook and entertain, which is something I absolutely love to do. Baked brie with fig preserves is a quick and easy appetizer recipe that’s perfect for the holidays and is guaranteed to be loved by all.

Here are your four simple ingredients:
1. (1) sheet of puff pastry, thawed to room temperature
2. 1/4 cup of slivered almonds
3. 1/4 cup of fig preserves
4. (1) 8oz. Wheel of brie cheese
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
Lightly butter or grease a cookie sheet or pie pan.
Place your dough in the pie pan and spread half of your slivered almonds (1/8 cup) in the middle.
Cover one side of your brie wheel with the preserves of your choice, I prefer figs.
Place the wheel of cheese (preserves side down) on top of the almonds and then coat the top and sides with more preserves.
Sprinkle the remaining 1/8 cup of almonds on top of the cheese.
Bundle the puff pastry up and around the cheese.
Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes or until the crust begins to brown.
Let cool for 5 minutes.
Serve with your favorite crackers or bread.
*Note, if you bake in a pie dish, it’s easier to serve and contain the melted cheese!
That looks amazing Jessica – thank you for this. I will definitely try it!
Wow, looks yummy!
